| Training - "Time Out Referee School" The date for the 2008 Time Out Referee School Camp is "TIME OUT REFEREE SCHOOL" The purpose of the School is to provide officials and aspiring officials with the necessary tools to develop and improve their overall officiating skills. Officiating techniques are demonstrated by experienced officials that will assist with the development and enhancement of skills. In an effort to improve on-court performance, emphasis is placed on individualized instruction, team officiating and mechanics. Lectures, demonstrations, films and video viewing of on-court officiating will be critiqued. The philosophy of officiating, pre-game conferences, handling of coaches and players (e.g. game administration), and much more is discussed in detail. For more in-depth discussions in areas that are commonly misunderstood, the School offers break-out sessions. The staff will work with each attendee individually to provide team and leadership skills. After being observed at our School by various collegiate supervisors, participants of the school have been selected to work higher level basketball. The School is held annually at The American University, located in Washington, D.C. For more information regarding the Time Out Referee School, please e-mail us at dgray@macboa.org.
